Quarries and Mine Site Contractors

Mine and Quarry Fuel Management, Down to the Machine.

  • Bulk tanks and service trucks metered, all on one account
  • Records fills at the bottom of the pit, with no signal
  • Contractor fills kept apart from your own
  • Wired in by your own electrician

Month End at the Pit

The delivery comes with a docket. The fills get a clipboard.

  • The Shift Handover

A shift of fills from the service truck, written up at the end of twelve hours, from memory.

  • The Contract Crew

Contractors' machines draw from the same tank. At month end, someone has to work out whose litres were whose.

  • The Cost Per Tonne Guess

Cost per tonne is the number a quarry runs on. The fuel inside it is spread across the fleet by estimate.

Introducing Fuellox

A unit on each outlet, one record for the site.

Fuellox fits to each outlet on a quarry or mine site: the bulk tank, the service truck that runs out to the face, the pods at the next pit over. It controls the pump, meters what goes through, and reports every outlet into one account. Already running a depot system on the main fuel farm? Keep it. Fuellox can run separately on the trucks and tanks it doesn't cover.

How It Works

Fuelled at the face. Logged before the truck moves on.

  • An operator scanning a machine's QR tag with the Fuellox app 1. Scan Open the Fuellox app on any smartphone. Scan the QR code on the machine. It takes five seconds. Add an operator and pick the tanks they can draw from Every fill carries a name, so you know who took what A printed tag is the only hardware. Anyone on site can use it
  • An operator fuelling from a site tank 2. Pump Fuel exactly as normal. The pump reads the flow and the system records it as it goes. No scan, no fuel. The record makes itself. Nothing new to learn. They fuel as they always have. Fits what you own. Tanks, cubes, service trucks.
  • The Fuellox dashboard showing fills by site and by month 3. Recorded Machine, litres, time, GPS location, project code and operator, all logged automatically. No connection, no problem. Syncs on next connection. It records itself. Better costing, no paperwork. Nothing to write up. The office stops chasing dockets.

Fuel Visibility

Cost per tonne, with real litres in it.

Every fill is recorded against a machine, an operator and a cost centre, so the fuel figure in your cost per tonne comes off a record instead of a month-end rebuild.

A Fuellox project report: fuel by project and cost centre
  • By Machine

Each loader, dump truck and crusher on its own line, month on month, so a jump in one machine's litres is easy to spot.

  • By Contractor

A new contract crew can be approved in the dashboard and fuelling the same day. Their machines carry their own tags, so their litres come out as their own report when it's time to charge them back.

  • By Cost Centre

Pit, crusher, workshop, haul road. Fuel lands on the part of the site that used it.

  • By Tax Class

Plant in the pit and utes on the highway are recorded apart, based on how each machine is set up, so your fuel tax credit records start from real litres. Your accountant takes it from there.

Fuel Security

Bulk fuel is a big number to lose track of.

The quarry shuts for the night and the bulk tank sits there with nobody near it. A draw after hours still needs an approved operator and a tagged machine, so it lands on the record with a name against it. Add a level probe and each tank shows in the dashboard, with an alert before it runs low. Longford Civil's quarry manager on that alert: "It definitely helped us with ordering bulk diesel."

FAQ

Questions Site Managers Ask

We have several dispense points off one tank farm. Can each be controlled?

Yes. Each point gets its own unit, so two machines fuelling at once are recorded separately, and every outlet reports into the same account.

Can it handle high flow lines?

Yes. The meter is sized to the line. A 40mm Flomec covers a high flow delivery line, and a Veeder Root pulse encoder is used where the volumes are larger again.

Can we reconcile deliveries against what was dispensed?

Yes. Every litre out is recorded, and with Fuellox Level on the tanks you can see what is left, so the gap between delivered and dispensed stops being a mystery.

Contractors fuel from our tanks. Can that be separated?

Yes. Their machines carry their own tags, so contractor fills show separately in the reporting and are ready to recover.

Does it work with no reception on site?

Yes. The fill queues on the operator's phone and syncs automatically once they are back in range, and it is backed up on the Fuellox unit itself.
